The facility is only for use by Bolton residents and is for materials generated by residential activities. Waste generated from commercial, business or industry activities is not allowed.
A resident non-transferable ticket is required for access to the facility and may be purchased from the selectmen's office or at the Recycling Center. The ticket is $24 and, depending on use, is valid for a maximum of four years. The size of the load determines usage. The attendant at the center will punch up to four holes in your ticket, one hole for each $6 of fee. When all four holes have been punched, the permit is expired. Please visit our website (http://bolton.govoffice.com) or contact the selectmen's office for further information.
Electronics Collection
Bolton is holding its second annual electronics recycling collection. Residents will be able to dispose of their unwanted electronic items, including computers and printers, at the Residential Recycling Center on two Saturdays in June. The facility will be open on the following Saturdays, June 7 and 21, from 8 a.m. to noon. The facility is for Bolton residents only. This special disposal opportunity is free and does not require the purchase of a permit, as do other items taken to the center.
Summer Staff Positions
The Town of Bolton is in the process of hiring summer staff for Indian Notch Park. Positions include park maintainers, ticket takers, lifeguards, and water safety instructor (WSI). All positions, except the WSI, are 40 hours per week. For an application or further information, contact us.
Indian Notch Park Opening
Indian Notch Park will open Saturday, June 21. The park is open daily, weather permitting, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. until sunset on weekends through Labor Day. The park is located off Tolland Road on Bolton Lake. Besides swimming, the park has a picnic area, basketball court, pavilion, and ball field.
The weekday user fee is $3 per vehicle for Bolton residents and $10 for nonresidents. On weekends and holidays, the fee is $5 for Bolton residents up to five people per vehicle. Each additional Bolton resident will pay $2 per adult and $1 per child under age 12. On weekends and holidays nonresidents will pay $25 for up to five people per vehicle. Each additional person will pay $4 per adult and $2 per child under the age of 12.
On weekends and holidays, individuals walking into the park will also be charged. Bolton residents will pay $4 per adult and $2 per child under the age of 12. Please remember that the only official entrance to Indian Notch Park is through the front gate on Tolland Road.
Season passes for Indian Notch Park will go on sale Monday, June 16, at the town hall in the selectmen's office during regular business hours. Up to two license plate numbers of an immediate family are allowed on a pass at the time of purchase. Passes may only be purchased if the license plate numbers for both vehicles are known. No additions or changes will be permitted after the pass has been purchased. Bolton resident passes are $25. Nonresident passes are $100. Bolton senior citizens (over 60, proof of age and residency required) may purchase a pass for $10 for their personal use. Passes are non-transferable.
Having a pass does not guarantee entry if the park is full and only one vehicle at a time is permitted to use the pass, even if the pass lists two vehicles. On weekends and holidays, passes will be good for up to five people in the vehicle. Each additional person will pay the appropriate rate as stated above.
There are no refunds or replacements for lost, damaged or stolen passes. Misuse of a pass will result in it being revoked.

Dog Licensing Begins June 2
Dog licenses for the 2008-2009 year will be sold in the town clerk's office beginning on Monday, June 2. Connecticut law requires that all dogs that are 6 months of age or older be licensed.
